Wallingford’s Petersen Receives Little East Conference Honor

WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford’s Krista Petersen, a senior on the Eastern Connecticut State University women's soccer team, was named the Little East Conference (LEC) Defensive Player-of-the-Week Award for the week of Sept. 24.

Petersen, a center back, played a pivotal role in the 2-0 shutout of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, playing every minute of the match for the seventh time in nine contests. UMass managed only four shots on the day, and the Warriors extended their unbeaten streak in the LEC to 20 games.

After leading the Warriors in minutes played last season, Petersen is ranked second on the roster through 10 games.
