Wallingford Schools Returning To Full-Time, In-Person Learning

Voluntary distance teaching and learning will not be an option for the 2021-22 school year, according to Superintendent Danielle Bellizzi.

WALLINGFORD, CT — All Wallingford students and staff will be returning to school full-time and in-person at the end of the month, Superintendent of Schools Danielle Bellizzi said Friday.

“We are excited that all students and staff will be returning to school full time and in person starting at the end of August,” Bellizzi wrote in a message to families. “The district is well prepared for all members of our school community to enter our schools ready for what promises to be a school year filled with opportunities to grow together as students, staff, friends and colleagues.”

Bellizzi said that voluntary distance teaching and learning will not be an option for students and teachers for the 2021-2022 school year.

“While this option served a very meaningful purpose over the past year, it is not a long-term replacement for teaching and learning in the classroom setting,” she said.

The first day of school for all students in grades kindergarten through 12 is Monday, Aug. 30. The first two days of school are both early release days for students only.
