WALLINGFORD, CT — Town Hall is reopening to the public beginning next week, Mayor William W. Dickinson Jr. announced Friday. On Monday, July 20, people will be allowed to again enter Town Hall to conduct business. The exterior doors at Town Hall had been locked since March 30 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Dickinson said that face masks and social distancing will be required at all times to “protect everyone from the virus.” Signage with health safety requirements and social distancing floor markers have been installed.

Offices have capacity limitations that must be followed, according to Dickinson.

“We ask that every reasonable effort be made to protect everyone’s health safety,” Dickinson said in a statement. “Do not enter the Town Hall if you are coughing, sneezing, have a fever or feel ill in any other way. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.”

The Tax Office must close by 4:15 p.m. and no payments will be accepted inside the building after that time, according to a news release. Payments for tax and utility bills may be mailed or placed in the drop box outside the Prince Street sliding door Town Hall entrance at any time.
