Wallingford Woman Runs For State Senate

Aili Mckeen said last time that this race is a marathon not a sprint as she won a primary and challenged Senate Minority Leader Fasano.

The right choice for all of of us
The right choice for all of of us

Two years ago Aili Mckeen ran against Minority Leader and co President of the State Senate, Len Fasano. Mckeen has a vision for a CT, fair taxes, protect and expand apprenticeship programs, affordable access to technical schools and college, equal pay, conservation, and women's rights are just a few.

It's not a Sprint it is a Marathon was what she said about her battle for the Senate seat. She won a primary by an impressive margin over a candidate from East Haven and then with only 11 weeks left to campaign, she kept her eye on the target. Even though she did not succeed, she reminded everyone the race was a marathon not a sprint and promised to do it again.

Mckeen entered the race again in January 2020 as the only opposition to Senator Fasano, the only person that dared to challenge the most influential Republican in the Legislature. Now that Fasano has stepped out of the race, opponents will jump in because it might seem an easier race. The current health crisis has made traditional campaigning much harder. Shelter in place, workplace shutdowns, and quarantine has made voter contact difficult. When asked about this, Mckeen said that nothing worth fighting for is easy and that her resolve to represent the people of Wallingford, North Haven, East Haven and Durham has not changed.

A strong woman is needed to change our State and get it back on target and I believe that Aili Mckeen has the vision and experience to get the job done. She has long been an advocate in Hartford for conservation, labor, woman's right and fair taxes. She will take that experience with her to the floor of the Senate and make CT a better place for everyone. A better place to work, to open and expand business and industry.
