WALLINGFORD, CT — A Wallingford woman is vying to become Entenmann’s first-ever “Chief Donut Officer.” Gina Nero is one of the top five finalists in Entenmann’s first-ever Chief Donut Officer contest. She will have a chance to be awarded the honorary title, along with $5,000, Entenmann’s swag and a year’s supply of donuts.
Nero was selected from thousands of entries and has proven to be among the country’s most enthusiastic donut devotees, according to Entenmann’s. She has shared a video testimony that highlights why she deserves the title of Chief Donut Officer (watch the video at the end of this story). Voting is open until Aug. 2 and the grand prize winner will be announced on Aug. 7.
Beginning on May 7, the country’s biggest donut fans were asked to share their love for donuts and original ideas for product innovation. The most impressive entries — narrowed down based on their passion, creativity, and originality — made it through to the final round, according to Entenmann’s.
