World War I Lecture Series: Pandora's Box

Wallingford Public Library is presenting a four-part lecture series on the causes and consequences of World War I beginning February 24 at 7:00 p.m. with the lecture “Pandora’s Box” by Mark Albertson.

This lecture will take a look at how the French Revolution and the resulting Age of Enlightenment set the stage for the War to End All Wars. The series continues as follows: March 24: “Two Shots Heard Around the World,” April 28: “Versailles,” and May 19: “Iraq and the Creation of Colonialism.”

Mark Albertson is an historical research editor at Army Aviation magazine and teacher of history at Norwalk Community College for the Extended Studies Program and the Lifetime Learners Institute. He has been a member of the United States Naval Institute for over 25 years.
