• Some CT school districts to begin giving out bus passes, offering students a free ride (ctpost.com) — Waterbury high school students will soon receive 2,331 free public bus passes this school year, giving them easier access to classes, jobs, and after-school activities. Funded by a new state program, the passes aim to reduce transportation barriers, boost attendance, and expand opportunities, with Waterbury officials now finalizing how families will request and receive them.
   

• Original 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' star Barry Bostwick is coming to Connecticut (ctpost.com) — Waterbury's Palace Theater will host Barry Bostwick, the original Brad Majors from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," for an adults-only screening with live shadow cast and costume contest on Oct. 16. • GasBuddy survey: Average gasoline prices in Albany up 8.4 cents from last week (saratogian.com) — Drivers in Waterbury are paying about $4.44 per gallon for gas, up 15.8 cents from last week, according to GasBuddy. While Albany is the main focus, the report shows Waterbury, Hartford, and Springfield all seeing sharp increases tied to global tensions and refinery disruptions, with analysts warning of continued price volatility.
