Chemical Spill Quickly Cleaned Up in Waterford

The incident happened at a weigh station along Interstate 95.

Emergency crews have contained a chemical leak that occurred at a weigh station in Waterford Tuesday morning.

According to a news item at wfsb.com, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said a plastic tote containing a 25 percent solution of hydroxide solution spilled after falling out of a truck at the weigh station along I-95.

Only about a gallon of the solution was spilled; the remainder was pumped out, wfsb.com said.
