Compatibility Issues Between Waterford Community and Naval Sub Base to Be Studied

The community will take part in a year-long study that will evaluate compatibility issues with the base.

WATERFORD, CT – Waterford will be part of an upcoming year-long Joint Land Use Study that will look into compatibility issues involving the nearby naval base, The Day reported.

The study is meant to evaluate compatibility issues between Naval Submarine Base New London and surrounding communities, according to The Day. The study has been approved by defense department’s Office of Economic Adjustment.

The communities of Groton, New London, Waterford, Ledyard and Montville will all take part in the study, The Day reported. The base is one of 16 military installations currently participating in this kind of study.
