Deal Made Regarding Stabilization Of Millstone Profits

Officials said an agreement has been made in principle regarding the profitability of the Millstone nuclear station​ in Waterford.

WATERFORD, CT - An agreement has been made in principle regarding the profitability of the Millstone nuclear station in Waterford, the New London Day reported. The agreement was reached between the Connecticut General Assembly and the administration of Governor Dannel P. Malloy.

Both parties have agreed in principle on bipartisan legislation authorizing state energy officials to take measures to stabilize the Millstone's profitability, according to the New London Day. The issue has been heavily lobbied at the State Capitol for more than two years, the New London Day reported. Passage of the measure is hoped to resolve the issue, however it is unclear if it will be brought before the legislature as as an attachment to the budget or as a stand-alone bill.
