Bee There - Fifth Annual Adult Spelling Bee

The Fifth Annual Adult Spelling Bee sponsored by the Waterford Education Foundation will take place at Clark Lane Middle School on March 27,  2012.  Three-person teams made up of students, teachers, area businesses, professional organizations and local citizens will compete in linguistic gymnastics to display their grammarian prowess in the fine art of spelling correctly.  The Foundation is currently soliciting applications from teams or persons interested in being team members  in this challenging and high-spirited non-profit fund raising event. The Spelling Bee is organized into teams, each with three adult (17 years or older) members.  The  Bee does not involve solo spelling. Answers to spelling questions will be by consensus of the three team members.  Spellers will be supplied in advance with a study guide of most of the spelling words.  A trophy with the team member names engraved  is presented to the winning team to keep in its possession until the next annual event.

The public is invited to enjoy the serious and light-hearted spellers as they tackle difficult words and compete to capture prizes and the winner's trophy.

If you prefer not to spell but would like to participate, you may sponsor a team or made a tax deducible donation to the Waterford Education Foundation.
