Fatal Waterford Accident Results in Arrest of Massachusetts Man
Three people died in the Oct. 12 accident that occurred on I-95 southbound in Waterford.

On Monday, Oct. 12, Trooper Jeffrey Rogers was assigned to investigate a fatal car accident on I-95 southbound involving four vehicles.
The first vehicle was stopped in the right travel lane on I-95 southbound in Waterford.
The second vehicle was stopped in front of the first vehicle, within the right lane.

The third vehicle was stopped in the left lane, in front of the second vehicle. All three vehicles were stopped due to a high volume of traffic back-up, Rogers said.
Vehicle four was southbound in the right travel lane.

“Vehicle four rear-ended vehicle one,” Rogers wrote in the police report. “Vehicle four then struck the rear of vehicle two. Vehicle four continued south into the left travel lane and subsequently struck vehicle three prior to coming to a final, uncontrolled rest.”
Three people in the first vehicle died as a result of the accident:
- Darin Robinson, 27
- Sanaa Reynolds, 10
- Dacari Robinson, 4
Massachusetts Man Arrested
Gerard S. Dube, 59, of 80 Burnside Drive, Swansea, Mass., was determined to be at fault for the accident, Rogers said. Dube was driving the fourth vehicle.
He turned himself in to Troop E in Montville on Tuesday, Oct. 13, and was issued a $50,000 bond.
Dube was charged with:
- 3 counts of misconduct with a motor vehicle
- Reckless driving
- Following too close
- Operating a commercial motor vehicle with an expired medical card
- Operating a commercial motor vehicle with a defective ABS sensor light
