Friendship School, Waterford High Placed on Lockdown
Police are continuing to investigate the incident. BREAKING

WATERFORD, CT - The Waterford Superintendent of Schools and Waterford Chief of Police reported a school lockdown Tuesday that occurred at the Friendship School.
Police received information around 10:50 a.m. that The Friendship School went into lockdown in response to a suspicious male with a backpack. All outdoor activities at Waterford High School were suspended as a precautionary measure, according to a release.
Officials said security precautions were also taken at the four other Waterford public schools.

The Friendship School's lockdown was lifted at 11:25 a.m. and returned to normal operations. Both Friendship and Waterford High School were subsequently checked by police personnel, but no backpack was found.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident. Officials said there is no danger to the school children or public at this time.
