Homeward Bound: Hope The Chihuahua Has a New Home
Good news to share on this intrepid dog who captured the heart of Waterford's animal control officer.

He said he wouldn’t cry. But when you’ve been caring for a dog you thought was a goner and watched a tremendous turnaround, it’s hard not to get emotional.
“Well I told myself I wouldn’t do it, but I did,” Waterford-East Lyme Animal Control Officer Robert Yuchniuk shared on Facebook. “I am not ashamed to tell everyone I teared up (just a little bit) when Hope left the building on her way to a great forever home.”

“This little pup has touched all our hearts as we followed her journey through the animal shelter, from her very sad entrance to her very happy exit, her turn around has been miraculous and I am very proud to be part of such a great community, the way people came together to get this pup the medical attention she needed made me very proud indeed,” Yuchniuk said. “Best of luck to our Hope, she will forever hold a piece of our hearts!”
