Man Dies of a Suspected Heroin Overdose in Waterford: Police

WATERFORD, CT - Police are investigating the death of a 46-year-old male who is suspected of overdosing on heroin, according to the department's Facebook page.

On Friday at 7:50 p.m. the Waterford Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call from a residence on Bloomingdale Road in the Quaker Hill section of Waterford reporting that the male had overdosed on Heroin, police said in a social media post.

The Waterford Fire Department and Waterford Police Department responded and discovered an unresponsive patient.

Narcan was administered and the patient was transported to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said. The name of the victim is being intentionally withheld out of respect to the family, the Police Department said.

This incident is being investigated by Waterford Police Investigative Services. The Waterford Police Department continues to participate in a regional community enhancement task force which is dedicated to combating the spread of heroin in the community.
