Obituary: Phyllis Elaine Shedlack, 86, of Quaker Hill
Music was Phyllis's favorite activity, from singing in the church choir to dancing the polka.

WATERFORD, CT - Phyllis E. Shedlack, 86, of Quaker Hill, passed away on Wednesday morning at Beechwood Rehabilitation Center in New London. She was born in New London on November 14, 1930, the daughter of Sherman S. and Annie Krauth Gay.
She was a graduate of the class of 1948 at Chapman Technical High School. She married Paul S. Shedlack on April 18, 1953 at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church.

Mrs. Shedlack was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Quaker Hill. She was a member of the Ladies Guild at the church and regularly helped with their Polish bread sales.
Music was Phyllis’s favorite activity, from singing in the church choir to dancing the polka. Phyllis and Paul enjoyed following the local polka bands for many years.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Couillard of Oakdale and Karen Shedlack of Chatham, MA; a sister Nancy Ziolkovski of Quaker Hill; five grandchildren, Alexander and Adam Eichenbaum; and Elise, Daniel and Ethan Couillard.
She was predeceased by her husband Paul in 2004 and their son Steven Shedlack in 1964.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Mausoleum. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy Fund (at Dana Farber Cancer Institute) or to Project Connecticut’s Child (an adoption program at Waterford Country School).
