• Submarine builder Electric Boat begins to make its mark on old Crystal Mall property in Waterford, Connecticut (newenglandnewspress.com) — Electric Boat's takeover of the former Crystal Mall is rapidly turning a fading retail center into a massive corporate campus that could host 4,000–5,000 workers in Waterford by 2027. The phased redevelopment, already underway with demolition and renovation of former anchor stores, is expected to bring high‑skill defense and tech jobs, boost the tax base, and relieve pressure on EB's crowded Groton shipyard.
