Stabbing Suspect Sought by State Police
Police said a Ledyard man fled the scene after allegedly stabbing someone during a fight in Ledyard. He could be anywhere in eastern CT.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, Feb. 8, State Police Troop E and Tribal Police responded to a report of a serious assault at a private residence located on Coachman Pike in Ledyard.
EMS, troopers and tribal officers responded to the residence at approximately 12:50 a.m. and located a man with stab wounds, according to a press release from State Police Lt. J. Paul Vance.

State Police Detectives determined that the victim had been involved in a fight with another man at the home. The suspect allegedly fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement, Vance said. Witnesses were interviewed and physical and forensic evidence was seized from the scene.
The victim was treated at the scene and transported by ambulance to Backus Hospital, where he was treated and then transported to Hartford Hospital for additional treatment, Vance said. There were no other injuries at this location.

Police Seeking Suspect
Police identified the suspect as Nicholas Harris, 22, of Coachman Pike, Ledyard.
Harris is believed to be in the Eastern Connecticut area. State police are asking anyone who knows the suspect’s whereabouts to contact State Police at 860-848-6500. All calls will be kept confidential.
The crime scene was secured by responding law enforcement. Detectives from the State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad responded to the scene to conduct this criminal investigation.
As a result of facts and investigative information determined by State Police Detectives in this case, an arrest warrant application was submitted to New London Superior Court for the arrest of the accused male subject.
The arrest warrant was issued by the court to charge the suspect with assault and risk of injury to a minor.
