Thames River Civil Air Patrol Squadron Tours Capitol

State Senator Paul Formica recently met with the Civil Air Patrol Squadron CT-075 at the State Capitol.

HARTFORD, CT – State Senator Paul Formica (Republican-East Lyme) met with the Civil Air Patrol Squadron CT-075 at the State Capitol on April 18. The eighth grade cadets from the Thames River Composite Squadron, the official Auxillary of the US Air Force, toured the Capitol and met with Formica in the senate circle for a discussion on state government and leadership.

The Civil Air Patrol carries out emergency services and disaster relief missions nationwide. Civil Air Patrol’s cadet program trains youth through a curriculum that focuses on leadership, aerospace, fitness and character, according to a release.

Many of the nation’s astronauts, pilots, engineers and scientists first explored their careers through CAP.
