Waterford Bridge Construction Causes Delays, Gets Mixed Reactions from Travelers
Traveler reaction has been mixed in regards to the week's bridge repairs causing delays.

WATERFORD, CT – Traffic was bumper to bumper all day on I-95 Monday due to the replacement of a bridge in Waterford, News 8 reported.
The delays have left many travelers frustrated, with one Groton resident questioning why the work had to be done during the travel-heavy summer season, according to News 8. Meanwhile, an Old Saybrook resident felt the DOT had given travelers ample warning to plan ahead.
The construction is making use of a process called Accelerated Bridge Construction, in which the new bridge was built onsite and the main work is taking down the old one, News 8 reported. In the meantime, the DOT recommends taking I-395 to Exit 2 and back south to I-95.
