Waterford Changes Rules On Keeping Geese, Rabbits In Yard: Report
Waterford has changed its rules on residents keeping geese, rabbits and certain other animals in their yards.

WATERFORD, CT — The Waterford Planning and Zoning Commission voted Monday to amend zoning rules and allow residents to keep up to two hens, geese, ducks or rabbits per 7,500 square feet on their property, the New London Day reported.
According to the Day, the town's zoning rules previously made any backyard-dwelling pets a violation by default due to farming on any property smaller than 120,000 square feet being forbidden. The new rules go into effect July 2.
The change comes as the result of a resident's fight to have the rules amended so she could keep her two pet geese in her yard. See also: Waterford Woman Not Allowed To Have Pet Geese In Yard: Report
