Waterford Child Porn Producer Sentenced

The man would target vulnerable woman and girls, according to the U.S. Attorney's office.

WATERFORD, CT — A Waterford man was sentenced to 16 years in federal prison for producing child pornography.

Police searched Richard Bruno's residence and his company's New London warehouse in May 2016. Analysis revealed 46 homemade videos with nine different females. One of the females was 17-years-old at the time, according to the U.S. Attorney District of Connecticut office. Bruno was the minor victim's landlord.

Bruno paid the minor in marijuana or cash for sexual activities.

A State Police detective posed as a single woman with a 13-year-old daughter who was looking for an apartment to rent. Bruno engaged in text messages with the supposed 13-year-old girl and asked for pictures of herself. He also asked her to come to New London for sexual activities, the U.S. Attorney's district office said.

He was arrested when he arranged to meet the girl. He pleaded guilty to one count of production of child pornography in May 2017.

Bruno paid the victim restitution in another case.

As part of his criminal sentence he was ordered to forfeit his company's New London warehouse, a multi-family residence in New London and a van owned by his company.
