Waterford Firefighter Damages Station After Backing Truck Into Building
The Cohanzie Fire Department station was damaged after a firefighter backed a ladder truck into the building.

WATERFORD, CT - Officials said the Cohanzie Fire Department station was damaged Sunday after a firefighter backed a ladder truck into the building, the New London Day reported. The incident also put the aforementioned truck out of commission.
Police said Mark Parker, 49, had initially taken the truck out to refill its fuel tank, according to the New London Day. He then backed the truck into a brick column between two of the building’s bays. (To sign up for Waterford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
Fire officials said a water monitor, the bucket on the back of the vehicle and a pipe that carries water out of the truck were damaged as a result, the New London Day reported. The truck may need to be replaced, which could cost about $1 million, however the cost of repairing the building could outweigh the cost of a new truck.
