Waterford Korean War Veteran’s Body Coming Home After Nearly 66 Years
The body of a local Korean War veteran will finally be coming home to rest in peace.

WATERFORD, CT – The body of a Korean War veteran will return home to Waterford nearly 66 years after he was killed in action, News 8 reported.
The body of Sgt. James Lawrence Campbell will be buried with full military honors Friday, according to News 8. The service will be held at the West Neck Cemetery at 11 a.m.
Campbell was declared missing in action on Dec. 2, 1950 following a battle with Chinese forces, then declared dead on Dec. 31, 1953, according to News 8. He was one of over 200 bodies sent over to the US by North Korea in the 1990’s.
