Waterford Man Tells Officers to Shoot Him During Standoff: Police
A Waterford man said he had a knife and told officers to shoot him during a standoff with Stonington police.

STONINGTON, CT - Stonington police were able to subdue a man Wednesday night they thought had a knife who wanted officers to shoot him, the New London Day reported.
Police initially received reports that Lucas P. Page, 24, of Waterford refused to leave his girlfriend's home in Pawcatuck and was armed with a knife, according to the New London Day. He had allegedly threatened both the woman and her brother with the weapon.
The suspect told officers he had knife in his pocket and repeatedly said to shoot him, the New London Day reported. Officers used what they referred to as de-escalation techniques to defuse the situation and end the standoff.
