Waterford Marine Buried Near Grave Making Recent Headlines
Buried near the grave of Humayun Khan lies a former Waterford resident who badly wanted to serve his country.

WATERFORD, CT – A Waterford Marine’s grave has been gaining a lot of attention due to its close proximity to another grave, News 8 reported.
Marine Cpl. Kemaphoom Chanawongse is remembered next to town hall in The Path of Honor, but he is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, News 8 reported. He lies just a few feet behind the grave of Army Capt. Humayun Khan, whose parents have been making headlines for their battle with GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.
Friends have pointed out to his parents that news reports on Khan have shown Chanawongse’s grave too, according to News 8. Thailand immigrant Chanawongse had joined the Marines to serve his country, and died a year before Khan on March 23, 2003 in Iraq.
