WATERFORD, CT — The Waterford Police Department has announced their latest attempt to make their customer service more accessible: a public mobile app.

According to a post on the department's Facebook page, the app has many exciting features, including the ability to leave an anonymous tip. Users can also get breaking news and check press releases right from the app.

There is also a handy function that allows users to take pictures of their personal items and catalog them in the app.

"If the item is ever stolen, you can send us the item picture, serial number and descriptors to help in your case," according to the post.

Those hoping to enjoy their vacations a little more will also be happy to hear the app features a "House Check Request" function, enabling users to request that officers check up on their home while they are away.

Each officer from the department is listed in the app, along with their emails and phone extensions. If you need to contact one of the School Resource Officers, simply click "Schools."

The app can be found by searching "Waterford Police Department"on the Apple Store or Google Play. Simply search, download and enjoy.
