Waterford Police Re-Institute Bike Patrols
The idea is to provide a safer atmosphere at events while increasing officer-to-citizen interaction at them.

WATERFORD, CT – The Police Department has re-instituted police bicycle patrols in the town's more crowded areas.
The bike patrol has been in effect for years but hasn't been utilized in recent seasons, according to recent post on the department's Facebook page. Lieutenant Silva has revitalized the program and put it into effect in higher populated areas, as well as for events such as the summer music series.
The bikes themselves were re-conditioned and re-worked by Officer Malbaurn, who was once a certified bike mechanic. The primary objective is to provide a safe atmosphere for events and allow officer interaction with the people at them.
