Waterford Police Seize Significant Amount Of Heroin And Cash, 2 Arrests Made: Police

One of the suspect's was held in lieu of a $750,000 bond and is facing operating a drug factory charge, police said.

WATERFORD, CT — The Waterford Police Department along with the Statewide Narcotics Task Force, and Regional Community Enhancement Task Force made two arrests Wednesday and seized a significant amount of heroin and cash, police said.

John Smith, 31, of Wiemes Court and Bethany Olsen, 36, of Wiemes Court, both of Waterford were arrested and charged with possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. Smith was also charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell and operating a drug factory.

The arrests were made following the execution of a search and seizure warrant at the residence located at 12 Wiemes Court, police said. The search warrant was issued in connection with an ongoing investigation into illicit drug trafficking at the residence, police said. An unspecified amount of heroin, drug paraphernalia, and currency were seized, police said.

Smith was held in lieu of a $750,000 bond pending bail or arraignment in court. Olsen was released on a written promise to appear in court.
