Waterford Police Warn Residents Of IRS Scam
Waterford police are warning residents about an IRS scam they have received complaints about.

WATERFORD, CT — Waterford police recently took to Facebook to warn residents about an IRS scam they have received complaints about. According to police, three separate residents contacted the department Thursday about receiving threatening calls from fake IRS agents.
"The caller threatens to come arrest the person unless they provide immediate payment," the post said. "That is not how the IRS operates."
Police advise residents who receive calls of this nature to hang up immediately and not to provide any information over the phone. They also provided two numbers, given to them by people who received these calls, to be on the lookout for: 605-252-5826 and 845-450-2905.
