Waterford Road To Close For 3 Months During Bridge Construction: Police

Police said a Waterford road will remain closed for a 91-day construction period as bridge construction begins.

WATERFORD, CT - The Town of Waterford is working with a contractor to replace the bridge over Jordan Cove in the Pleasure Beach/Millstone Point East area of town. The road will be closed August 21 for an anticipated 91-day construction cycle.

All residents will be required to utilize Gardiners Woods Road to get in and out of the Millstone Point East neighborhood during the construction period. Police said town services will continue throughout the construction. (To sign up for Waterford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Residents should be reminded that the height of the Amtrak bridge is 11 feet and 6 inches tall, and thus larger service trucks will not be able to access the Millstone Point East neighborhood.
