Waterford Working to Give Disabled Veterans Free Beach Parking Passes
Town officials are working on an ordinance change that will expand its free beach parking policies.

WATERFORD, CT – A policy change to give disabled veterans free beach passes is being worked on by town officials, The Day reported.
If approved, the policy would only be applicable to veterans that are residents of Waterford, according to The Day. The idea was approved by the Parks and Recreation Commission at its May meeting and a committee of the Representative Town Meeting will next develop an ordinance change.
Resident over the age of 65 are already granted free beach parking at Waterford Beach and Pleasure Beach, according to The Day. The amended ordinance will likely be in place next summer if approved.
