WEATHER UPDATE: Two Snowstorms Heading Waterford's Way
March is expected to come in like a lion with accumulating snow on Sunday into Monday and a snow, ice and rain storm on Tuesday-Thursday.
It hasn’t snowed in almost a week. OK, we did get flurries one day but that doesn’t really count! Winter plans to make its grand return for the start of March.
Essentially, you’ll want to write-off the first few days of March, because it’s one winter storm after another to begin the month. In like a lion, as they say.

It will remain cold Friday and Saturday to end February but also dry. That changes beginning the evening of Sunday, March 1.
According to prominent Connecticut meteorologists, they all agree that snow begins Sunday evening and becomes steadier late at night, and ends Monday morning, which could impact the Monday morning commute and students’ return to school.

Before the snowstorm ends, a few inches of snow is expected to accumulate. And of course more snow is forecast for Tuesday night, which will turn to ice and then rain on Wednesday before ending as snow on Thursday morning.
Here are what the prominent Connecticut meteorologists are specifically saying concerning the next two most recent weather events.
WFSB 3 TV Meteorologist Scott Haney said steady snow will develop late Sunday, impacting the Monday morning commute. Haney is specifically predicting 2-5 inches of snow.
NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Bob Maxon wrote several inches of snow will accumulate and predicts this could impact school openings on Monday.
WTNH News 8’s Gil Simmons wrote the only good news is when snow ends Monday the temps could hit 40 degrees. Time to break out the beach gear!
Simmons cautions that Tuesday through Thursday’s long storm will include snow, ice and then plain rain and a possible return to snow.
