Woman Strikes Cruiser, Charged With DUI: Waterford Police
Police said a woman was charged with driving under the influence after striking a police cruiser in Waterford.

WATERFORD, CT - Police said a woman was charged Monday with driving under the influence after striking a police cruiser in Waterford, as reported by the New London Day. The incident occurred while the cruiser was parked at a construction scene, according to police.
Police said Eileen Scalia, 53, hit the vehicle in front of Jordan Cemetery, where crews were working to replace a pole, according to the New London Day. Police said the impact of the collision was minimized due to the officer quickly putting the vehicle in drive and accelerating before being hit by the suspect, the New London Day reported. Scalia was arrested and charged with driving under the influence among other charges.
