• Gas Leak Prompts Roadway Closure In West Hartford (patch.com) — Emergency crews in West Hartford closed part of Oakwood Avenue between Edgemere Road and Edgemont Road on Monday afternoon after a gas leak was reported. Firefighters are asking residents and drivers to avoid the area while they investigate and work to make the scene safe, and no timeline for reopening has been announced yet.    

• West Hartford To Launch Month-Long Juneteenth Concert Series (patch.com) — West Hartford is rolling out a new month-long Juneteenth celebration, with free Thursday evening concerts, spoken word, and community activities at Blue Back Square starting June 4. The Jubilation Thursdays series replaces the town’s traditional one-day event, highlighting Black artists, supporting local businesses, and inviting residents to help fund the program through a matched crowdfunding campaign.    

• State Champion Hall Hockey Team Honored by Governor and Other Officials - We-Ha (we-ha.com) — Hall High School’s state champion boys hockey team was honored at a packed West Hartford pep rally where Gov. Ned Lamont, Mayor Shari Cantor, and other officials presented proclamations. The celebration highlighted the team’s dramatic Division III title run and recognized record-setting players, offering a proud, healing moment for the West Hartford community after a recent tragedy.
