WEST HARTFORD, CT — Spitz Mediterranean Street Food has officially opened its first Connecticut restaurant in West Hartford.
The restaurant is located at 138 Park Road, the former site of Plan B, an upscale burger restaurant that closed last summer.
The West Hartford location is also Spitz's first restaurant in the Northeast.
Most of the chain's restaurants are located in the South, Midwest and on the West Coast.
According to a grand opening announcement released Friday, the restaurant is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Spitz specializes in Mediterranean street food, including wraps, salads, gyros, wings and fries. The restaurant is named after the vertical broiling method used for proteins.
The meat served at Spitz is halal certified. The restaurant also offers vegan, gluten-free, children's, Paleo and Keto menu options.
The company is promoting a 20 percent discount for customers with a Spitz account, available online or in-store, according to the grand opening announcement.
