In addition to the threat of thunderstorms, winds are expected to increase throughout the day, with sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts potentially reaching 30 to 40 mph.

Officials advised residents with outdoor plans to closely monitor weather conditions and be prepared to move indoors quickly if storms approach.

The Office of Emergency Management also encouraged residents to secure loose outdoor items that could be blown by strong winds, charge electronic devices in advance of potential power outages, and maintain multiple ways to receive weather alerts.

Residents are encouraged to continue monitoring local forecasts and weather updates throughout the day as conditions develop.
