WEST HARTFORD, CT — A man suffered life-threatening injuries Wednesday afternoon after his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree on Simsbury Road, according to the West Hartford Police Department.
Police, firefighters, and American Medical Response personnel were dispatched at approximately 2:21 p.m. July 1 to the area of Simsbury Road and Tumblebrook Lane following reports of a vehicle that had crashed into the woods.
The sole occupant, an adult man, was trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated by the West Hartford Fire Department.
He was transported to a hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries, police said.
The West Hartford Police Department's Traffic Division is investigating the cause of the crash.
Police thanked the West Hartford Fire Department and AMR for their response to the incident.
