With town officials and state Rep. Kate Farrar offering support, speakers emphasized how deeply the tragedy affects West Hartford's large Nepalese population and urged residents to donate to Nepal's official disaster relief fund.

UK's Sarah McQuaid In Concert (dailybulldog.com) — A well-known UK folk artist, Sarah McQuaid, is bringing her U.S. tour to West Hartford on November 7 for a show at The Sounding Board Coffeehouse. She'll also play several other New England dates, but this West Hartford stop offers local fans a rare chance to hear her acclaimed live set without traveling far.

Darkness takes center stage as the 2026 CT fall theater season features thrills and chills (courant.com) — Connecticut's fall theater season leans dark this year, but West Hartford readers will want to note that Playhouse on Park is opening its 2026‑27 season with "The Happiest Man on Earth," a stage adaptation of Holocaust survivor Eddie Jaku's memoir. The production, directed by new co‑artistic director Sasha Brätt, runs Sept. 23 through Oct. 18 amid a statewide lineup of thrillers, classics, and holiday shows.
