Arrests Made In Connection To Restaurant Shooting: Police
2 have been arrested, and a third suspect fled the country, in connection to a shooting where bullets struck a restaurant in West Hartford.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — Police have arrested two men and hold an active arrest warrant for a third man in connection to a shooting in which bullets struck a restaurant in West Hartford. Police responded to Zaytoon’s Bistro, located at 165 Park Road, just before 10 a.m. on Sept. 19 after the owner reported that the building had been struck by bullets. Police found that the exterior of the building at been struck several times by bullets. No one was injured during the incident.
Omar Alzghoul, 28, of Kane Street in West Hartford, was arrested Nov. 6 on a warrant and charged with tampering with evidence in the case. His bond was set at $25,000. To sign up for West Hartford breaking news alerts and more, click here.
Ahmed Lebabneh, 26, of Capen Street in Hartford, was also charged with tampering on Nov. 14 while he was being held at the Hartford Correctional Center, according to police. Lebabneh’s bond on that charge was also $25,000.

Police said that a valid arrest warrant is on file with WHPD for the alleged shooter, 23-year-old Momen Almefleh, whose last known address is Evergreen Avenue in Hartford. Almefleh is wanted on the following charges: illegal discharge of a firearm, first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree reckless endangerment, illegally carrying a pistol without a permit and illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle.
“Almefleh fled the U.S. during the investigation and we hold an active warrant for his arrest,” Capt. Michael Perruccio said in a press release. “All involved suspects in this case have been identified and either arrested or otherwise accounted for and it has been determined this was an isolated incident with no threat to the community or general public. This is a joint investigation that remains open and active; additional charges may still be applied.”
