Au Pairs Learn Fire Safety from West Hartford Fire Department Station #2
L. to R.: Ben Coker, Franzi Kleinsteuber, Mandy Lohmann, Matt Lyons, Adrianna Lala, Chris Pettinelli, Neal Sinatro

For the past five years, during Fire Prevention Month (October), the au pairs in our community have been welcomed by the Firefighters from the West Hartford Fire Department Station #2 to learn about staying safe in an emergency and also keeping the children they care for safe. It has become a highlight of the Au Pair meeting calendar!
Many thanks to Lieutenant Chris Pettinelli, Firefighters Matt Lyons and Neal Sinatro, and Apparatus Operator Ben Coker for taking the time to speak to our au pairs (from Germany, Mexico, Poland, and Brazil) and to explain how emergency services work in the U.S. They also took the time to show the au pairs the equipment they use and how it all works.
