Bicyclist, 15, Struck By Car In West Hartford: UPDATE
The bicyclist was seriously injured in the accident, according to police.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A 15-year-old boy was seriously injured when the bicycle he was operating was struck by a motor vehicle Tuesday morning in West Hartford. Police responded to the intersection of Hall Street and Federal Street at about 7:50 a.m. on Nov. 7 on the report of a bicyclist struck by a motor vehicle.
Arriving units found the injured bicyclist and the driver of the motor vehicle at the scene. The teen suffered head trauma in the accident and was taken to the hospital via ambulance, according to police. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured in the accident, police said.
Police said the teen’s injuries are serious and the investigation is ongoing.

At this time, there is no enforcement action being taken but police said the investigation is ongoing and that could change depending on facts and evidence.
There was a witness to the accident and the WHPD Accident Reconstruction Unit responded and is investigating the accident, police said.

Note: The bicyclist was initially misidentified as a 13-year-old but police say he is actually 15 years old.
