Big Day For West Hartford Runners At Cross Country Championships

MANCHESTER, CT — Runners from West Hartford fared quite well at the CIAC cross country championships at Wickham Park Friday, with Hall's Miller Anderson winning the Class LL individual title.

Anderson completed the 3.1 mile course in 15:57, just two seconds ahead of Conard freshman Gavin Sherry. As a team, Hall wound up second with 87 points, trailing the 78 of Staples. Other Warrior performers in the top 25 were Trey Cormier (4) and Matthew Reynolds (24), while Callum Sherry of Conard took 14th. Northwest Catholic placed fourth in the boys Class SS meet, led by Michael Stamm (3) and Noah Winters (21).

On the girls' side, three Hall runners finished in the LL top 25: Rose Kitz (7), Francesca Lynch (11) and Jenna Zydanowicz (23). Liana Eisler of Conard was 21st in Class L.

The top two teams and 12 individuals from each class advance to the State Open, scheduled for Nov. 2, also at Wickham Park.
