West Hartford Center's 'We Care Card' Returns With Discounts To Benefit Cancer Foundation

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Shoppers and diners visiting West Hartford Center can save money at local businesses while supporting pancreatic cancer research and patient assistance through the return of the annual We Care Card fundraiser.

The West Hartford Center Business Association is hosting the fundraiser from Nov. 5-15, offering discounts of up to 20% at 21 participating businesses in exchange for a donation of $50 or more.

Proceeds will benefit the West Hartford-based Ron Foley Foundation, which advocates for early detection of pancreatic cancer, supports research and provides resources to individuals and families affected by the disease.

The fundraiser is now in its ninth year, and 2026 marks the fifth consecutive year that proceeds will benefit the foundation.

Last year's We Care Card campaign raised $17,900, according to the business association.

Organizers hope to build on that total this year while encouraging residents to support local retailers, restaurants and service providers.

"The We Care Card is a great example of what makes West Hartford Center such a special community," said Kimberly Moster of Kimberly Boutique.

"It brings our local businesses and residents together for a cause that affects so many families, while giving people another reason to shop, dine, and support the businesses right here in the Center. We’re proud to be part of this tradition and to continue supporting the Ron Foley Foundation and the important work they do," Moster said.

The 2026 We Care Card includes discounts and special offers at the following West Hartford Center businesses:

Participating businesses include clothing boutiques, specialty retailers, restaurants, and service providers.

Cardholders can present their We Care Card to receive eligible discounts and special offers during the fundraiser.

Individual businesses may have restrictions or exclusions on their offers.

How To Get A We Care Card

Residents can obtain a We Care Card by making a donation of at least $50.

Cards will be available online and at several participating West Hartford Center businesses, including BK&CO, Bohdii, Central Optica, Daswani Clothiers, Fleet Feet, French Cleaners, J.McLaughlin and Kimberly Boutique.

The fundraiser runs from Thursday, Nov. 5, through Sunday, Nov. 15.

The Ron Foley Foundation is a West Hartford nonprofit dedicated to advancing pancreatic cancer awareness, early detection, research, and support for patients and families.The West Hartford Center Business Association represents businesses in the Center and promotes the district through shopping, dining, and community events.
