Bloomfield High’s Safe Grad Party is in the Bag Thanks to AFC
American Family Care in West Hartford donates 125 bags to surprise graduates

The Project Safe Graduation committee at Bloomfield High School was able to surprise seniors with goodie bags at their June 11th all-night graduation party thanks to a generous donation of 125 drawstring bags from American Family Care (AFC) West Hartford. Project Safe Graduation is a program that provides a substance and alcohol-free, adult-supervised environment for new graduates to gather and celebrate.
A long-standing supporter of community initiatives, AFC has donated bags and other items to schools and organizations in the towns of West Hartford, Vernon, Danbury, New Britain, and Torrington where AFC centers are located.
“We believe in keeping kids healthy and school-sponsored graduation parties help ensure that teens celebrate safely,” said Tom Kelly, independent co-owner of AFC. “We are happy to assist Bloomfield High School as area families often seek medical care at our convenient nearby facilities.”
“The entire committee is extremely grateful for AFC’s generosity,” said committee member Donna Banks. “The drawstring bags were crucial for us to be able to stuff with fun and useful items for all of the graduates to enjoy at the party. The students were very surprised and appreciative!”
AFC locations are open Monday through Friday from 8 am-8 pm and weekends from 8 am-5 pm. No appointment is required and care is dispensed with the utmost quality and efficiency. The centers are located at 1171 East Main St. Torrington CT; 135 East Main St., New Britain CT; 1030 Boulevard West Hartford, CT; 179 Talcottville Rd., Vernon, CT; Danbury locations 2 Main St., 100 Mill Plain Rd & 76C Newtown Rd). All locations offer convenient, private parking. For more information visit www.afcurgentcare.com.
