BPA-Free Isn't All It's Cracked Up To Be

Most of us have heard about BPA (bisphenol-A). It is a chemical that is in many products, from plastic water bottles, Tupperware, the lining of canned foods and even in the receipts that you get at the store.

Research has proven that BPA mimics estrogen in the body, and has linked it to a variety of health problems including cancer, reproductive and neurological defects, obesity and diabetes.

Growing consumer concern over BPA has led many manufacturers to replace it with the related chemical BPS. However, the new study shows that BPS also functions as an estrogen mimic.

Just last week, a study estimated the use of BPA in food and beverage containers is responsible for some $3 billion a year in healthcare costs. Yeah, that's billion! Think of how this can change if we just made simple changes in our life!

Watch the video of an interview to learn more about how BPA-free is affecting our health.

To sum it up... plastic is plastic! The beauty is... you can avoid it!

Have you gotten rid of plastic from your life? If so, what have you replaced it with?
