WEST HARTFORD, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Emerson College, Boston MA

  • In conjunction with Emerson Stage's 2019-2020 season, students participated in the Emerson College production of Stupid F##king Bird, that ran from Sept. 26-29, 2019 at the Jackie Liebergott Black Box Theater in Boston. Cedrick Ekra, of West Hartford, greatly contributed to the production and was credited as: Actor (Trigorin). Ekra is majoring in Musical Theatre and is a member of the Class of 2021.

  • Goodwin College announces 627 students achieved Dean's list status for the summer 2019 session. Dean's List inclusion requires a student to earn a minimum 3.5 GPA, the equivalent of an A- average, during a given academic session. The student must also be enrolled in a minimum of six academic credits to qualify. These students from West Hartford made the Dean's List: Elizabeth Apted, Maria Botero, Cara Files, Jessica Hespeler, Jennifer Lemanski, Kelechi Orchingwa, Simone Rendon, Yelena Roseen, Katherine Schwartz, Dailisse Vega, Maureen Waller and Lindsey Walsh.

Hamilton College, Clinton NY

  • Madeline Pavlovich, of West Hartford, is serving as an emergency medical technician (EMT) at Hamilton College this year. Pavlovich, a sophomore, is a graduate of Miss Porter's School. The Hamilton College Emergency Medical Service (HCEMS) is a New York State certified agency that is made up of 25 student EMTs who provide 24-hour emergency service to the campus community during the academic year. November this year marks the 25th anniversary of HCEMS becoming a NYS EMS agency. Each NYS certified EMT volunteers 30-40 hours a week, during which time he or she is on call to assist anyone needing medical attention. On average, the EMTs respond to 50-60 medical emergencies on campus each semester. Along with the rest of the nation, Hamilton will be recognizing the achievements of its EMTs during National Collegiate EMS Week, the week of November 11.
