Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

  • Eastern Connecticut State University graduated 227 students at the conclusion of the fall 2019 semester. Among the recent graduates is Catherine Hatch of West Hartford, who graduated with a Master of Science in Secondary Education.
  • Eastern Connecticut State University recently released its fall 2019 Dean's List for full-time and part-time students. Among the students on the list, along with their majors, are West Hartford residents Hannah Avena, Music; Lauren Barlow, Pre-Elementary Education; Hannah Beazoglou, Business Administration; Zoe Buntz, Business Administration; Colin Campagna, Physical Education; Emily Chu, Business Administration; Joselyn Clark, Biology; Armen Danielian, Economics; Samantha Grande, Social Work; Olivia Holmes, Exploratory STEM; Meghan Leonard, Criminology; Noa-Ariella Malone, Pre-Early Childhood Education; Robert Oakley Jr., Sport & Leisure Management; and Crysta Wolski, Health Sciences. Recognition for the Dean's List is given at the end of each semester to matriculated students in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.50 or higher.

  • West Hartford residents Cedrick Ekra, majoring in Musical Theatre and a member of the class of 2021, and Grace Gamester, majoring in Comedic Arts and a member of the class of 2023, have been named to Emerson College's Dean's List for the fall 2019 semester. The requirement to make the Dean's List is a grade point average of 3.7 or higher that semester.

  • Jordaine Wisdom of West Hartford received a top award during the University of Hartford's CETA Design Expo, an event hosted by the University's College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture every fall. Wisdom and teammates were honored for their design of a gesture-controlled robotic arm. The Expo gives first-year students their first opportunity to work on a design challenge as a team. Students in the Engineering and Design class were tasked to propose, build, and demonstrate a final project that shows new knowledge and skills.

University of Rhode Island, Kingston RI

  • Abigail Agreda, Lauren Bettencourt, Katie Burgdorff, Summer Calvert, Sami Gardner, Athena Matsikas, Ava Morin, Abby Quinn, Shannon Racz, Allison Turner and Jewel Voyer, all of West Hartford, have been named to URI's fall 2019 Dean's List. To be included on the Dean's List, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average.
