Dump Drugs At West Hartford Town Hall Saturday
The local health and police departments will collect unwanted, unused, and expired drugs at National Drug Take-Back Day on April 27.

WEST HARTFORD, CT – Those who have accumulated a plethora of expired, unwanted, and unused prescription drugs can safely dispose of them in West Hartford on Saturday, April 27.
The West Hartford- Bloomfield Health District, in conjunction with the West Hartford Police Department, is hosting the annual National Drug Take Back Day, rain or shine.

This free event allows the public to dispose of pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medication in an environmentally safe manner.
Collection activities will occur at the West Hartford Town Hall parking lot, 50 S. Main St., West Hartford, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

These drugs can contaminate waterways when flushed and are a potential risk to the public
health and safety when used illegally.
The program is anonymous and volunteers will be on hand to take items from your vehicle.
Items accepted are prescription and over-the-counter dosage medications like tablets, capsules,
vaping products, and liquids.
What isn't accepted, however, are intravenous solutions, injectable medicines, Epi=pens, and needles.
But there is more going on at town hall Saturday than just collecting drugs. There are some special events for the entire family.
“This year’s Take Back Day offers so much more. Drop off your drugs, park your car, and get
out and explore all the special events happening on April 27, including Touch-A-Truck, Hidden
in Plain Sight simulator trailer, and a lot of great information from prevention and safety experts,” said Gretchen Levitz, prevention coordinator with West Hartford Social Services.
