Fire Displaces Resident In West Hartford

A resident was displaced and a cat was rescued after a fire Monday morning in West Hartford.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A woman was displaced and a cat was rescued after a fire at a home in West Hartford on Monday morning, according to the Hartford Courant.

All five of West Hartford’s fire companies, Battalion and Chief 1 operated at the scene of the structure fire on High Wood Road, according to the Professional Firefighters of West Hartford-IAFF Local 1241 on Facebook. The first-arriving company arrived on the scene within five minutes.

The Courant reports the fire may have been caused by a match that was used to light a candle and fell on a bedroom floor.
